Dodgy download speeds, frequent dropouts, and WiFi that doesn’t work in your dunny have been revealed as Australia’s biggest broadband blues according to TPG’s first ever Crappy Internet Report 

The new survey casts a light on Australia’s most complained about internet problems and reveals a quarter of Australians suffer one to five connection dropouts a month while the worst spots in Australian homes for internet connectivity, have been revealed as the bedroom, living room and toilet. 

 The Crappy Internet Report found Australians are willing to pay more in rent if they could get a reliable internet connection, with some 47 per cent saying they would pay between $20 – $40 extra a week for a stable and fast service and 36 per cent reported they would pay between $40–$60 extra a week for great internet.

 Additional findings include: 

·       28 per cent of respondents restart their router or modem every month, while 23 per cent threaten to throw their router out the window at least once a month.  

·       42 per cent of respondents say their internet connection works perfectly most of the time, but almost a quarter (23 per cent) say their connection slows to a crawl during peak usage times.   

·       Of those suffering constant connectivity problems, 11 per cent say their connection is “slower than a tortoise”, and another 14 per cent say their connection disappears when it’s most needed.   

·       When asked what the ideal internet connection is, 42 per cent said they wanted a “stable, reliable” connection with no unexpected interruptions.
