Now that we’ve finally recovered from the Christmas gift giving season…another occasion is looming where you have another good excuse to buy something for the one you love….Valentine’s Day.

Let’s start small and work our way up because it’s not about how much you spend, but the thought that goes into it.

The first one is a no-brainer.  Jump on your computer and look up an online florist such as www.rosesonly.com.au or www.flowers.com.au and have a colourful bunch of something delivered.

In terms of gadgets as gifts, here are my top tips.

Digital Photo Frame – A great way to always have your favourite photos on display, plus if you pre-load it with some pictures of you and your other half then you’ll score bonus points for personalising it.  Prices start from just under 100 dollars.

Phone Case – Ok so it’s kind of practical, but if it means adding some personality to your loved one’s phone and protecting it from accidental drops then they will appreciate it.  Also don’t forget to grab some of those clear screen protectors (the matte finish ones are great for cutting down sun glare).

Give the gift of digital music – For the partner who is yet to discover the latest in portable music I’d suggest an iPod Nano.  Starting at $150 dollars this tiny music players also displays photos and has an FM Radio and Fitness application.

A new Computer? – Ok, this might be a stretch for Valentines day, but in portable computers at the moment there’s nothing sexier than an Ultrabook.  They are thin, light and powerful with great battery life and amazingly fast boot up times.

How about a printer then?  Yes use Valentines day as a good excuse to buy yourself a printer then use it to make your own Valentines Day Card.  HP has some great printer projects HERE.
