From the U.S – Claiming that distracted driving “is becoming the new DUI,” the National Transportation Safety Board has recommended banning all cell phone use by drivers. Regardless of whether the devices are hand-held or hands-free, the federal agency seeks an outright ban on talk and texting while you’re behind the wheel — the lone exception would be for devices built into cars.
The statistics that led to this conclusion are shocking — last year, 3,092 people were killed in accidents linked to distracted drivers. (These are U.S statistics)
