Smart phone screens are getting bigger, but without the actual devices getting larger, all thanks to  folding screen technology.

There was a time when it felt like it was almost a race to see who could make the smallest mobile phones, but back then you only really used a mobile phone to make a call or send a text message.  Now thanks to the rise of streaming video content, social media and games, larger screens are in demand.

But just how big can you make a smartphone screen before it’s becomes cumbersome to use?  Well thanks to a new generation of screen technology those screens are starting to get even bigger…but will still fit comfortably in your hand.

Samsung’s Galaxy fold is a great example, opening up to present an 18.5cm main display. Also look out for Motorola’s new Razr smartphone. It will have a 6.2inch display…but folds down to a very compact size.
