Last week Sony announced their latest wireless noise cancelling headphones due to hit stores later next month…but I have been able to get my hands on a set for review.

As I have a set of the previous generation, the first thing I noticed about the WF-1000XM4 headphones is that they’re smaller and have a more round shape.  Officially they’re 10 percent smaller and the charging case it smaller too.
Sony also says the earbuds are lighter however with each bud coming in at around 10grams, you’d be hard pressed to feel the difference (in terms of weight) from the previous generation.

Sony’s claim to industry leading noise cancellation is backed up with the new XM4’s and the proof is in the listening.  I stood undercover outside during heavy rain and the noise was reduced to whisper with full noise reduction in effect.

There’s more to the WF-1000XM4 wireless earbud headphones including water resistance which was not found in the previous generation.  Get more info on Sony’s website HERE.
