Over the past week I’ve been testing out a set of new earbud style headphones from Nura.

Now there are already some great options available when it comes to earbuds with active noise cancellation but what sets the NuraTrue product apart from these is the price and the ability to personalise the sound.
In terms of cost, the NuraTrue comes in around 150 dollars less than my favourite Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds and in terms of the sound, you’d struggle to pick the difference between the two.

The personalised sound is the key feature that Nura is pushing and it’s no gimmick.  During the setup process there’s a whole bunch of random sounds played through the headphones used to ‘measure’ your hearing to create a custom sound profile.  When I spoke with Nura co-founder Dragan Petrovic he explained how this process works.  You can listen to the conversation below.

The design on the NuraBuds initially seemed a little ‘clunky’ for my liking, however it quickly becomes apparent that these are built to stay in your ears…and they fulfil that need very well while still being comfortable.
