The success of Apple’s iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices can largely be attibuted to the App Store, the online click and buy store offering hundreds of thousands of games and other applications.

Hoping to replicate that success on the desktop, earlier this month Apple launched the Mac App Store.

Just like the mobile version, the Mac App store features both free and paid applications that are educational, productive, creative or simply fun.

The Mac App store also offers software developers a unique way of getting their product to the market with Apple keeping 30 percent of each sale with no additional cost to the developer.
