One of the key boastings of the newly released iPhone 7 is that it’s waterproof. But what exactly does that mean?
The details are in the fineprint where we see that the device carries the IP67 standard rating for dust and water incursion.
The number 6 in that rating means complete protection against dust. The number 7 means a harmful quantity of water won’t enter the device up to a depth of 1meter over a 30 minute period.
Now this rating is given after testing in laboratory settings so best not to push your phone to the same limits.
