what we do onlineUsage of online social media services like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are big in Australia however new research shows that they don’t rule our time online.

A survey by internet service provider Belong sound that people actually spend just as much time online paying bills or researching products as they do on sites like Facebook.

The research also revealed that two thirds of us hit the web daily to find answers to key questions and life issues with 60% looking  for places to take a date, 80 percent going online for cooking advice and one-third hitting the web to check health symptoms.  Also while 90 percent of those surveyed said they’d be lost without the internet, almost half were put off entering a broadband plan because of lock in contracts.
