As Australia makes the switch to Digital Television, the federal government is making sure that anyone who needs assistance with the change won’t be left behind.

The latest initiative is the rollout of a talking digital set-top box, which is now being intergrated into the Household Assistance Scheme for the Digital Switch across Australia.

These special set-top boxes are designed to assist blind or vision impaired people to navigate the electronic menus and program guides and provide talking instructions for use of the remote control.
