The kids may think it looks good, but they will quickly outgrow this ‘toy’ camera

If you’re thinking about buying your kids their first digital camera, you may be surprised that the price difference between Toy Cameras that offer low image quality and entry level pocket camera’s isn’t that much, but the quality difference is very noticeable.

For example a ‘barbie’ branded digital camera I found online for $30 dollars only offered  1.2megapixel image resolution, yet for around the same price you’ll easily find an entry level camera capable of 5megapixels or more that have better optics.   If you go up to between $80 & $100 then you’ll find some even better options such as some of the Sony Cybershot range.

If you think your child may take photos worth keeping, then reconsider buying a camera that may be easily outgrown and shop around for a good deal on a better digital camera.
