On a windy day at my house, the wind blowing the trees has been known to trigger a notification on the CCTV cameras.
If you own a smart security camera, you are likely familiar with this scenario, the constant buzzing of your phone—alerting you to everything from a swaying tree to a passing cat.
This “notification fatigue,” often leads people to switch their alerts off entirely.
Now, Swann is tackling this with a new feature called “Notify Me When.” Instead of pinging you for every movement, the app lets you type in exactly what you want to see—like “notify me if a courier drops a package” or “if the dog enters the backyard.”
Using advanced AI, the system analyzes the video and only alerts you when it matches your specific request. Early tests show this cuts false alarms by sixty-five percent, ensuring you only check your phone when it actually matters.
Note that this new feature from Swann does rely on a subscription for access.
